Carla M. Zilli is an Italian-rooted, Dutch-trained lawyer turned accredited mediator, based in Geneva. She founded Equirock in 2023, after many years of legal practice and a long-held conviction that many of the matters brought to lawyers are better resolved in conversation than in proceedings.

Her career as a corporate attorney at an international law firm in Amsterdam and as a lawyer at one of the largest financial institutions in the Netherlands brought her a deep understanding of commercial relationships and the dynamics between legal entities, shareholders, managers and other stakeholders.

She completed a Postgraduate Programme in International Relations at the Clingendael Institute, the Netherlands’ leading institute for international affairs — training that helps her navigate the layered interests and cultural sensitivities that often arise in cross-border matters.

In Switzerland, she earned a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Mediation from the University of Geneva and is an accredited mediator with the FSM (Fédération Suisse de Médiation) and a member of the Swiss Chamber of Commercial Mediation (SCCM).

With years of experience across the legal profession and the business world, she has a solid grasp of multiple legal areas and a feel for the commercial concerns each side brings.

Well practised in negotiation, she brings the same steady legal eye — and the same care for the personal and emotional stakes — to family matters, including divorces and separations.
